Where Have I Been?

So it's been a very busy past week.

Trying to run a daily blog in December, with so much holiday hullabaloo, was already pretty intense.

Throw in a death in the family, though, and that made the whole operation grind to a halt!

My grandfather passed away at the age of 93 - I never called him 'grandfather' by name, though, he was always my 'morfar', which is Danish for grandfather.  Why is this significant? Well, Denmark is the home of LEGO, and so my ties to LEGO have always been deeply rooted to my morfar.

He was an exceptional craftsman, and he loved the versatility of LEGO.  One of the last things he said to me was "I think I will be by your side every day for the rest of your life."  I know I will always remember him, especially when I'm building LEGO.

So now, it is December 20th, and my last update was December 9th!  How do I make up for this? I have 15 days of entries, and 5 days (including today) to go!  Well... looks like we'll be doing 3 entries a day for the next 5 days!

So rest in peace, Morfar, and let's get back to doing what we both loved - building LEGO!

Happy New Year... Er... of Advent Calendars!

I hope you didn't think I forgot about you?

It's just that Advent is only every once in a while - as in, once a year in the four weeks leading up to Christmas!

So here we are again, on December first, and we're about to embark on another LEGOiferous journey into the world of Christmas!

What treasures and surprises will this year's advent calendars bring?

Well, we have two themes again this year - the first being a 'cops and robbers' themed City set, and the second being... STAR WARS!

Nothing says Christmas quite like a bunch of criminals stealing your money - and no, I'm not talking about the malls!

Check out those Minifigs - Exclusive Santa Yoda!? Yes please! Oh no, I think I'm spoiling the surprises!

No hiding which one I am more excited for, although LEGO is pretty amazing, so the City set still has a chance.

Well, they are both going to be awesome - but there is only one way to find out which one is more awesome...
